On Wednesday, during her regular jog, actress Reese Witherspoon was struck by a car that was being driven by an 84-year-old woman. Now, War On Hollywood has learned that the actress will not be pressing charges against the driver of the vehicle.
A source told Us Weekly that she’s not planning on pursuing the issue and has only suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident. Witherspoon’s rep said that she was “not seriously injured and is resting comfortably at home.”
A source said, “The incident is being treated as an accident. The driver was not given an alcohol test at the accident scene and typically she would receive a fine and a point on her driving license as it is considered a moving violation.”
Reportedly, Witherspoon only sustained a cut on her forehead that is not likely to interfere with her upcoming movie projects.
UPDATE: The 84-year-old driver has been ordered to re-take her driver’s test:
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Santa Monica police have asked the DMV to haul in the elderly driver for a full re-examination within the next 30 days. In addition to the driver’s test — we’re told she will have to take an eye exam, and provide a list of medications she’s taking.
