Getting into a healthier lifestyle is not as easy as it seems, it takes time, mindfulness, and practice.
Being in college, it is sometimes quite difficult to make the healthiest choices. I try my best to do so, but every now and again I fall off the my good lifestyle quicker than expected. For example, I used to drink my iced coffee black from Dunkin Donuts, no extra calories or cream or sugar, no nothing. But, recently my roommates introduced me to a black iced coffee with 3 pumps of caramel and I WAS HOOKED. Two times turned into seven times, turned into 21 and more times of me switching to my new found high sugar, high calorie coffee.
21 days = a habit. That is what I just created, and a not so healthy one. Now, I’m not trying to tell y’all how to drink your coffee, but I am trying to explain that all it takes to form a habit, either good or bad, is 21 days. 21 days of taking the time to drink more water, 21 days to workout, 21 days to drink black coffee with caramel. 21 days to form a habit that could last forever.
So, pick your habits wisely, and know that you CAN start today. 21 days to start, 21 days to end.
My final exam period for my university has just now ended, and I think now is the perfect opportunity to get healthier. Start now, start today because I guarantee you will soon thank your body you started now. Here’s a few healthier lifestyle choices I want to make over these next 21 days…
- Walk more, drive less
- Tea more, coffee less (unless very needed)
- Sleep more, stress less
- Read more, iPhone less
- Make more Vegan foods, meat less
- Pray more, complain less
- Whole foods more, packaged less
Those are 7 little things I know I can hold myself accountable for for 21 days. I challenge you all to try this healthier lifestyle challenge! Comment below what your ideas are! ?
